We don’t mean to brag, but we have an incredible squad here at GoPrime. Each year we invite our team, from all across the country, to weigh in on who has made a stand-out impact on them. Whether they were the one who always showed up with donuts, dropped everything to help a team member in need, or consistently had a smile on their face, these team members were recently recognized for consistently going above and beyond.
We count ourselves lucky every single day to work with such dedicated people, as they are a huge part of the GoPrime difference.
Newcomer of the Year
Melissa Asmer // Processor
As soon as Melissa joined GoPrime as a processor, she won over the hearts of the underwriters with her extensive knowledge, thoughtful and proactive approach to her job, and commitment to being a team player. Quickly promoted to a team lead, her willingness to quickly jump in and help out has earned her much recognition throughout the company.
Outside of work, Melissa loves to spend time near the water, cheer on the South Carolina Gamecocks, and relax with a book. She is driven in her job by the family culture that GoPrime has, and lives by her favorite quote from Charles R. Swindoll: “Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it.”
Executive Choice Award
Nell Bormann // CRM and Content Specialist
From the moment Nell joined the marketing team at GoPrime, she hit the ground running. Armed with extensive knowledge of mortgage Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, she was quick to apply her talents, renaming problems as puzzles to be solved. Nell was quick to form meaningful relationships with the loan officers and earned a reputation as a reliable contact. Each day, she brings her amazingly capable, sunny, can-do attitude to GoPrime, tackling any task presented to her, always willing to offer help and guidance.
Outside of her CRM duties, Nell loves to go camping with her dog, Porkchop, and spends time outdoors as much as she can – whether it’s gardening in her backyard or reading a book in a hammock. She also is a self-proclaimed Harry “Potterhead,” and her guest bedroom is decked wall-to-wall with collectibles from the series. She often reminds herself of a quote her brother always said growing up, “Losers let it happen. Winners make it happen.”
Manager of the Year
Jessie Norris // Director of Marketing
Jessie first joined GoPrime as the sole person on the marketing team, and has since built a powerhouse of a department. She supports not only her own group, but the company as a whole, all with a genuine smile and passion for both the industry, the company, and the people. She says she has never felt as supported as she feels at GoPrime. She knows that her suggestions are not only heard but considered – here, employees are not considered just another worker, but are given a voice and a community, where everyone knows you by name.
Outside of work, Jessie is fulfilling her lifelong dream of homesteading with the purchase of a historic farmhouse in West Virginia. Her land is quickly filling up with two pigs (Arnie and Pixie), rabbits, chickens, and geese. Jessie remembers a Winston Churchill quote her mother always told her: “When I look back on all these worries, I remember the story of the old man who said on his deathbed that he had had a lot of trouble in his life, most of which had never happened.” She enjoys gardening, hiking, and foraging, even though she sometimes gets scolded for continually bringing home interesting rocks, plants, and skulls, but she swears that’s normal!
Manager of the Year
Regina Simkins // Processing Manager
Entering into a challenging role remotely and without an agenda, Regina handled the transition from team lead to department manager seamlessly. She is always open to ideas from her staff, and treats everyone equally and fairly. She is recognized for her positive attitude, great work ethic, and perseverance in her commitment to always doing her best. She enriches her team with the confidence that every situation has a solution. She is passionate about the people at GoPrime, and feels blessed to be surrounded by such a hardworking team.
Regina has two adult children and is a huge Denver Bronco fan, through wins and losses. Her family now refers to her as a “BirdNERD” due to her increased appreciation for the many birds she’s noticed during quarantine. A quote by Russel H. Ewing has stuck with her while managing her team, “A boss creates fear, a leader confidence. A boss fixes blame, a leader corrects mistakes. A boss knows all, a leader asks questions. A boss makes work drudgery, a leader makes it interesting.”
Employee of the Year
Dorrie Short // Closer
Whether it’s the busiest season (hello, last two years!) or “just another Tuesday,” Dorrie is known to go above and beyond the call of duty to complete documents for the company, the branch, and the team. She works early, late, nights, weekends – whatever it takes to keep things running smoothly and efficiently for the closing team. She finds that she thrives most within the family atmosphere that GoPrime offers, and after eight years working here, she truly enjoys spending time with her coworkers.
When she isn’t binge-watching the newest show, she likes to go biking, take walks, and spend quality time with her husband, family, and friends. She believes in always taking advice from those who are where you want to be in life. She lives by the mantra, “Never stop dreaming; always have a dream to aim for in life.”

Thanksgiving with all of us around a table wouldn’t include that “weird uncle,” awkward glances, or cold small talk, but rather lots of laughter and toasts to success, happiness, and gratitude.
