A burning desire for quality candles prompted the Crafty Barista to begin creating her own scents. Through lots of trial and error, she not only achieved her goal, she also found a passion for the art of candle-making. Starting with just candles, her creativity soon blossomed and she began crafting wax melts, soaps, paper goods, and jewelry. Many of her creations were sold on the go as she traversed the country as the wife of a soldier. Just a few short years ago, she and her spouse settled in Sanford for good, giving her the chance to open a brick and mortar store for customers to visit.
This gourmet market is inspired by what they call the most diverse place in the world: Queens, NY. Tasting Queens enjoys strong Caribbean influences, with handcrafted menu items using local ingredients from a Guyanese-American female Executive Chef. All of their products are organic and non-GMO, with several options for guests with a vegan or gluten-free diet as well. To ensure peak freshness and crisp flavors, all food is prepared in small batches using natural stabilizers.
